Hi Greetings
3. TA (Travelling Allowance) (at least 10% of basic, some company may offer fixed charges from SR350-950) (not applicable for company provided car/pool vehicle).
4. FA (Food Allowance): SR300 and above. Some company club this with HRA. (not applicable for company provided food).
5. Yearly Vacation Allowance (1 months basic salary). For Europeans/USA citizen, company provides 6months paid Vacation (added 21.8.12).
6. Return Air Ticket for self (if family status for family).
7. Other allowance like Mobile Allowance, Hardship allowance etc may also expected from companies.
8. End of Service (usually paid when going on Exit): 15 days basic salary for every year worked. Calculated on last salary drawn.
Note that above is not for employee who get Hourly payment. Hourly payment varies from profession to profession and usually you get paid more, but the catch is that in many case for hourly payment, companies might not give other benefits like HRA, FA and other. But if you are able to get a deal along with other benefits kudos.
Just for Guidance hour rate you can expect:
Carpenter,Shuttering Carpenter, Labour, Mason, helper : SR10 to SR 21/per hour.
Engineers: SR50 and above
Specialised Engineers: SR75 above
Sometimes, if you are lucky you may be also offer USD per hour. Calculate the same in SR @3.75 which is fixed pegged rates for USD. Note that for US/Europeans its always in USD (added 21.8.12)
1. All
cost related to bringing your family i.e. Travel Air Ticket/Iqama/medical
expense/Medical Card
2. House furnishing allowance3. School Tuition Allowance4. Return Air Ticket Allowance5. Relocation Allowance. 6. Extra Baggage Allowance
Now, the big question is how much I ask Salary. This is a difficult question to answer, as everybody has their own needs and requirements.

Ukmitra
All expats have a
dream to fulfill on materialistic world and this is not possible without
"Money". "Money" is the most important factor an expats
considers when he thinks about moving out of his home town, country and away
from family. Here are some guidelines for you on the subject.
In
Saudi Arabia, your Salary package must have following minimum and anything
above this would be great:
1.
Basic Salary: Min 3000SR (graduates are above). For Labour and Technicians
under supervision (min SR1800). Anything lower than this is a disaster.
2.
HRA (Housing Allowance) (it must be atleast 25% of Basic) (not applicable for
company provided flat).
Then
comes whether you have been given Single working status or Family Status. If
Single Status, nothing more than above you can expect. If Family Status, you
can expect following for your Spouse and 2/3/4 kids depending on company what
they might offer you.
2. House furnishing allowance3. School Tuition Allowance4. Return Air Ticket Allowance5. Relocation Allowance. 6. Extra Baggage Allowance
Remember, many of
above benefits are sometime linked with internal company policies to be
eligible. Hence, you may or may not get these, subject to fulfilling those. So,
ensure you ask the company all these clarification even if they have mention on
the offer letter.
Next
check with company, when is their salary being paid. Mostly companies pay
between 1st and 7th of every month.
Now, the big question is how much I ask Salary. This is a difficult question to answer, as everybody has their own needs and requirements.
But my advice, as a
thumb rules is do not accept any salary less than 3 times your current salary
in home country. In the worst case scenario, if you are first timer and low in
experience, then ofcourse not less the 2 times your salary. Anything less than
this, you are undervaluing yourself and will struggle to go up and do any
saving.

DeleteHi,
DeleteMy name is Mohammed Abdul Razzaq..I have done My IATA/UFTAA, what will be the salary in saudi and dubai for an Air ticketing Executive.
Please help me with basic salary details along with breakups also like Accommodation, food & transportation. Holiday after how many years and increment time etc etc..
Appreciate your help in advance..
well, the salary for IATA qualified candidates varies with experience. I can't say anything about Dubai. But in KSA, a qualified Expat from Asia commands a salary start SR6000 and above. Further, as I mentioned experience counts and also your bargaining power. The airline industry is very limited and and very few players. So good luck.
DeleteUkmitra
I have been offered a job as a Secretary in an University, and I am being offered 3400 SAR. Is this fine or pretty below the normal standards?
ReplyDeleteI guess SR3400 is basic. If its first time you are trying in Saudi Arabia then it is fine, but not the best.
DeleteSecretary Salary varies as per company and project from SR2500 to SR 6000 Basic and higher in certain project site based contracts.
Wish you all the best.
Ukmitra
Hi Ukmitra,
ReplyDeletePlease share latest salary estimates. I have been offered a salary of 12,000 SAR a month but it includes Basic 7240, Housing Allowance (25% of basic), Transport Allowance (10% of basic), Vacation Salary, Medical Allowance, Air ticket, ESB, Mobile all together coming out to total of 12,000. Now this is confusing me, why would company include Vacation, Medical, Air ticket, ESB & mobile allowance as part of my monthly salary.
The offer looks good at first but i'm doubtful based on the breakup given.
I forgot to mention, i will be working as IT Manager
ReplyDeleteorry RD for late reply. Yes you are right. Salary is only Basic+HRA+TA. Nothing else. Rest all should be separated from Salary.
DeleteMedical Allowance is paid in terms of medical card and not money.
Vacation Salary is 1month Salary Basic+hra+TA.Some company wont add TA. ESB is calculated after you complete the project, its not a salary.
Air ticket has to be paid separately and for Mumbai its around 1800 max two ways.
Mobile Allowance depends on case to case usually we get company SIM.
Dear Dodo ,
ReplyDeletei got offer from consumer electronics MNC as AM asd giving me 12000 with basic + 25% Hra and 10% travel allowance . and other other benefits in saudi . Is this offer ok ?? please tell where i can negotiote with them to get more .
Hi Aryan,
ReplyDeleteSalary in KSA is based on experience.
But AM position with 12000 Basic is decent package with TA and HRA is as per usual terms. Check for family status with all cost paid by client. Also, company car is would be great. Visa Category is very important under which company will bring u to KSA. Ensure it matches with your profession.
Dear Dodo ,
DeleteFamily visa for spouse and chldren they are paying but right now i am sinlge . Can you let me know how i can negotiate on this .
What do you mean by VISA category ...It will directly through MNC ..
Aryan, have the contract made as Family status. Whether u are single or married, it will benefit you later.
DeleteVisa Category, means the "Visa Profession" the company will allocate to you. Ask the company under which category Visa you will be working. This visa must match with your job position and profile.
Hi UKmitra I'm a new pass out mechanical engineer I'm applying as a HVAC engineer in Saudi Arabia with 6months intern experience.what salary should I expect and can I live with my wife on 4500-5000 Sar salary?
ReplyDeletehi Muhammed Khan, I am doubtful if you get a opening in KSA. the clients I work with demand min of 5yrs experience. for mechanical engineer with 5yrs in HVAC the current market rate with fixed salary would be around 8500+ basic and above. Ofcourse it also depends on client to client capacity to pay.
DeleteYes, you can survive with spouse with even 4000 it all depends on your life style. But I would prefer one earns atleast 8000 Max to have a decent living.
Salam,
ReplyDeleteI have one query, if you could reply me.
I have arrived in kingdom recently on free visa. Now got an offer 4000 basic in probational period (after 3 months 500 raise), and they will not pay HR as I will avail company hostel. but the company is not paying me travelling allowance which is 10% of basic, please advise is this legal?. further job title is store supervisor and based in remote area, and I want to assure I should not under paid, is it good salary or if not what should be salary of store supervisor.
First of all arriving on free visa is illegal and in near future you will be calling trouble.
DeleteSalary in remote place is bound to be lower In city area a storekeeper usually gets around 6000-8000.
If you stay in company accommodation, company usually does not pay HRA. Besides, if company provides its own transportation, you will also not get TA. It has been also seen in many places if the Accommodation is near to Office, some company do not give HRA as well.
This is sathappan from Jsw energy ,Bellary,India. I have been offered job offer in Water production - Engineer planning II. I would like to know few information as this is first time to saudi & Gulf offer, which all are mentioned below
ReplyDelete.
1) 10% of Basic up to a maximum of 1000 per month. If so how much i will get , whether 709.7(10% of basic) or 1000 or Actual based on Transportation Bill Receipt.
2) 25% of basic with a minimum of 30000. If so how much i will get, whether 1774(25% of basic-7097) or 2500(30000/12) per month or Actual based on Transportation Bill Receipt. This amount will be given to me immediately when i join or Month wise. I think i might give advance to landlord when i take rent house.
3) Recreation and Beach camp, what does it mean exactly in accordance with membership policy.
4)I have one daughter age 3.10 (Dec 2010#) she is currently going to Pre KG here in the INDIA. 1. 709.7(10% of basic). No Need any proof as it is paid with Salary.
Delete2. Minimum 2500/- pm. You will have to apply for 6 months advance rental to pay landlord. No need any proof.
3. Check with company documents. this is usual for all employees.
4. Admission June/July. Check on internet for admission as most school advt it on their website. Indian Embassy school is economical.
5. All employee who work over and above their usual working hours is eligible for OT in KSA. Check your working hours.
6. Get JD from Marafiq Understand Job before signing the contract.
7. what is writtten in your contract matters and not on website. Check your contract and terms and see who are ofder medical card. Only Statt with Family Status+wife+2kids (or as per case)+dependable are eligible to get Insurance Card. Besides, all members must be in kingdom under your sponship with Iqama to enjoy these benefits.
8. Increment you need to check with your company on their internal policies.
9. Bank charges is around 15/18 SR per transaction. Good Banks are Riyadh and NCB.
Good Luck.
I'm so happy for your suggestions, it was nice.now i want to work in Saudi Arabia, can I get the best way to work in Saudi Arabia, now I am working in parle agro as a sales officer, can I get relevant jobs, and how much salary i will get their. Pls suggest me.....
ReplyDeleteHi Pavan, sure why not. keep check job opening in Times aboard jobs, overseas jobs and with agencies like Jerry Vargehese, gghewala, Prince, ABC and other agencies for openings as Sales job. Try for direct staff opening positions. Salary purely depends on your experience and capability. However should not be less than 4500 basic plus with family status. Good Luck
DeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI have been offered a position of Store general manager by Dr. Cafe, Riyadh. The salary is SAR 3000 + Accom + Transp + Med. Is it worth it or shall I look for something else ? Please help. Many thanks
Sorry for late response...but anyways responded for other benefits...
DeleteDr Café, is very famous. Salary are pretty standard in coffee shops. I presume food is not provided and you will need to cook either single or through mess.
Usually if you decide to eat out for all 3 meals, than on lower side you per day expense would be around 30-50 SR, that would be 900-1500 pm. Plus don't forget Laundry expenses which Is bit expensive to us Indian Standards.
With current market scenario, I feel with the kind of work load and pressure around SR4500 basic is good offer to start with.
Its a good way to learn the tricks and down the line open your own shop either in KSA or down home or anywhere....coffee business has been doing good...
Good luck
Hi...
ReplyDeleteUKMITRA..I am pass out in 2012 with Bcom and present i am persuing MCOM.and i a have a good computer knowledge.so plz suggest me how i can apply in Saudi Arabia i intrested in.also give me salary regarding in my field...i am waiting your response very soon
Sorry for late reply.
DeleteWell, job opening for General category has been bit difficult in KSA now due to Saudization. So, if you plan to come to Saudi with general jobs, you would only get through Wasta (Recommendation).
Try get some additional Certification in Accounting which will add value to you. Accountants are still in great demand here and you have competition from Egyptians, Syrians, Palestinians, pakistanis and other arabs candidates.
Salary is purely based on your experience and skills in demand.
Good luck.
Hi,
ReplyDeletewhat will be the salary for science teacher in ksa?
Sorry for late reply.
DeleteHi,
Teacher salary is based on countries that you come from and Board you can teach and certification your have.
Usually European Teacher get a good salary ranging from 80001 to 15000 plus other benefits.
An Asian teacher based on experience and demand maybe be offered around 4500 and above and family Status for Male Teacher.
Visa for teacher is very difficult due to various reasons.
Good Luck.
Hello....
ReplyDeleteWe are having dialogue with our company HR regarding our basic salaries in the company as we are only given 740 basic salary and the rest they consider it as incentives and performance fee. Will you please share which publication of the Saudi Labor Gazette can we see the printed basic salary guidelines or list, because the HR representative asked if we can provide a copy from the labor office regarding the basic salaries. Thanks...
my God....SR740 as basic....this is lower than House Drivers who now get SR1700 min plus accommodation plus Food.
DeleteMin Base salary is an agreement between two countries. From you name I presume you are Filipino. The Basic rate list will be available at your OFW...check with them.
Hello Mitra, I have not found 25% of basic salary as HRA anywhere in the labor law.
ReplyDeleteDo you have any addendum published by labor office in this aspect?
Actually as per Saudi Labor Law accommodation and Transportation is required to be provided by employer. However, it is practically not possible and hence companies usually follow the thumb rule of 25% of Basic as HRA and 10% as TA. this is statutory but a precedence of what was being offered by Govt companies to contractor and it became common now.
DeleteAramco, SABIC< Sadara, Maaden and few companies offer Fixed HRA based on grades which are much higher then 25% so also HRA.
If you want to save in KSA, we must atleast get 25% HRA and 10% TA, or else you will fall in below average.
Good Luck
read above "this is statutory" as "this is not Statutory"

ReplyDeleteI'm sajad ansari I have doing safety and neboss. what is the salary in Saudi Arabia in this course. Please help me
Hi Ahmad, Experience count in KSA with certification. Please lookup for salaries for HSE/Safety Officer in the post.
DeleteGood Luck
How much should i get transportation salary from my company ...i m working in ksa al khobar as an accountant. ..please reply to me as soon as posdible ?
ReplyDeleteUsually companies pay @10% of Basic as a standard rate and as per Saudi Labor Law...
Deletehi...i am jyotirmay kaushik from india.I am a mechanical engineer with three years experience. Sir I've got a job offer today as mechanical engineer supervisor from a digital printing company through a job consultant name I.T.L. Tours and travels.sir they are offering me 3000SR per month salary+750 sr for housing+400 SR for transportation= total 4150 SR per month.i want to know that is good for me.and company offer letter mentions that joining ticket and agency fees will be paid by me.Is it good?.how much can i save per month.if i only want 1 room for single person and fooding for three times only and i dont know how to cook.i am vegetarian.
ReplyDeleteJyotirmay....NO NO NO... don't pay any monies to this agency. I am shocked ITL is involved in this kind of business, which is against Indian and Saudi Labor Agreement. If proved, ITL may loose the license.
DeleteSalary is also much lower considering your Degree. 3000 basic paid for Graduates with no experience. Reject it outright.
For your experience between 8000-15000 Basic. Cost of Living in Saudi has gone up by almost 100% with rise in Fuel, Water and Rent...
For Single Bachelor with Sharing in Riyadh around SR800-1200, or SR1200-1500 depending on location and facility.
For more info on rent, do visit a blog used by people here www.expatriates.com and lookup for Riyadh location. You will get live rates...
Good Luck...
my job is at riyadh
ReplyDeleteI am lokesh from Bengaluru,Karnataka,INDIA.My professional work is Civil Structural design engineer and I got a offer from Holy Rock & Green Flag Engineering Consultancy, Riyadh Saudi Arabia.
ReplyDeleteThey offered me 5000 SAR (Gross) including Accommodation,TA,FA and other stuffs.Contract Period : 1 Year Renewable.Weekly 5 days work.Morning 8 AM to 4 PM. But, I am asking 7000 SAR.
Is it OK.Please suggest me what to conclude.
Lokesh Here, One more thing I have 3 years professional work experiences and 1.5 years while doing my masters. Totally 4.5 Years Exp.What can I expect.
DeleteSorry Lokesh for my delay response. For 5 years I feel the offer is not bad, but ofcourse not the best. Depends on your work as well. Construction anyways is under lot of pressure on cost cutting. Working hours if okay, ask for OT, if available.
DeleteOfcourse, go ahead and ask for around 9000 and tha negotiate. Definitly ask for Family Status as well. Rather than TA I suggest ask for Vehecile+fuel...
Good Luck
Thank you. Well structured post. Simple and neatly presented.

DeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI am attending an interview on 18th May 2016 with Al wefag food company in india for research executive position in R&D in jeddah. I have a 4 year experience with unilever research & development. I am a chemical engineer by discipline and i work in product development research. I want to go to saudi arabia for work. But i don't know expenses there and i have a family here. I don't have any siblings. My father and mother is too old. I want to take them with me where i live and work, so that i can take care of them. Otherwise, they don't have anyone to care for their elderly life. Is it possible to take my wife and my parent's with me. How should i negotiate with an employer for the same? Right now with my experience i get a 4000 sar per month in bangalore in india. How much should i expect for my position with an experience i have and considering the cost of living in saudi arabia is almost 100% higher than india can i expect the range 15000 sar to 20000 sar? kindly guide me in this. I want to go but lot of other things also stopping like my family, i don't know what to do. Need your help & EXPECTING YOUR REPLY.
Thanks,
Siraj
Hi Siraj,
DeleteLately, I was no keeping upto to my blog.
Getting dependent parents is a challenge in KSA but not impossible.
My Suggestion:
1. Except only Direct hire position.
2. Salary atleast 2.5 higher then your indian CTC.
3. Cost of living is better than India, so don't worry.
4. School cost bit expensive, but since you don't have siblings, don't bother now.
5. Support from companies Govt Relation Dept, is required for you to get your parent on residence permit.
6. Besides, note that the Medical Insurance cost is expensive here and with Insurance card you can't get residence permit. Usually companies don't cover expat dependent parents and it needs to managed by employee.
Good Luck.

Sorry for late reply.
DeleteIshwar, the Salary is very low for a Shift supervisor.
See, even a house driver gets a SR1700+Housing+Food, so please dont except the offer.
For Supervisor, with change in salary structure now, I suggest ask for Min 4500+HRA+TA+Food ofcourse based on your experience.
Jubail is very expensive City in Saudi Arabia.
Service language commonly speaking Saudi Arabia could it compulsory to speak English
ReplyDeleteSorry for late reply.
DeleteNo, english is not mandatory.
It all depends on the Job/work your will work and their spoken language. But knowing English is Advantageous but Knowing Arabic is Best.
In Restaurants, I know an Indian who speaks only Malayalam and Arabic only. He does not know Hindi nor English.
Thanks for your information, you helped me a lot to move on to further process.

Based on your experience please demand atleat 5500+HRA+TA and if you can push family status, even if you are not married or don't plan to get your family here. There is no harm is in asking the same.
Bookrule, atleat ask for 3 to 4 time higher salary than your current CTC in country.
Good Luck.

My family is depend on me.Is it be a good opening for my career in SaudiArabia. Is it possible to hike my salary to Minimum 4000 SAR after 2 year contract.
Hi Niyas,
DeleteSalary is absolutely low. Even a house driver & House maid, get better than this. So, my suggestion reject it.
Minimum Salary for CCNA, Diploma atleast 4500 Basic + HRA + Company Car + TA (3 months Basic). Anything more than this a better. Any Experienced CCNA gets around 8000+ basic to Start with.
Good Luck.

Hi, I am in India. My husband is now working in ksa as a secretary in sales office at Riyadh. He has been working since 2016. His salary is 2500 (basic+ food). In contract paper, they mentioned transportation is provided by company. But they didnot. Ta is not given to him. He goes office by foot. This salary is OK or less.. Now he is in 2nd year. So now can he ask for increment plus car?.

So Sorry.. totally missed. it but will answer this for all to benefit. Ofcourse the salary is very very low. For European the salaries are usllay as per your home country standard and besides, they will need to offer you a European compound protected housing. The salary that mentioned above is sually for Asians.
DeleteAlso for eurpean, you usually get bi monthly vacation and for PM usually for european subject to company standards please expect anything starting from SR35000 basic + Housing + Fuel expense etc. Vacation, End of service and air ticket to-for, medical card etc all need to be paid by company. Hope its helpful.

Hey Sadiq, regret the delay response,. Lately quite busy with my work and unfortunately I don't get "notification" on question posted here, even if I have marked Yes.
DeleteNow in benefit to all who land here. I will speak for KSA as I am good at that.
IT Industry is now reserved for our Saudi Brother and Sister. So all fresher, its a big sorry.
But that's not the end. There are many specialized IT Skills which is still in great need in KSA, but for that you need to have 5+ experience minimum.
wish you good Luck and suggest first your spend time in learning skills in your own country, try to be expert in few select of your interest and then try. There is always a room for skilled workers everywhere.
Thank You and that i have a dandy proposal: Whole Home Renovation Cost house renovation tools
